Update on the Sarel Hayward Dam – 21 January 2022
With all three pumps now working at Pumps Station No 1 (two surface and one submersible) there has been an increase in water being pumped into the dam (probably still a 40:60 ratio (dam to town). Good news is that the Municipality is looking at sourcing a third surface pump at Pump Station No 1 to increase the volume being pumped into the dam. The dam is now at inlet number 3 meaning that we are at level zero and all water now entering the dam can be considered as water stored and can be utilised and pumped into town when necessary.
