Beaches, Community Projects, Security

A few months ago a very exciting project was launched due to some safety issues experienced on East Beach. Sunshine Coast Tourism, along with Business Forum and Multi Security launched the BEACH PATROL PROJECT.
A guard is currently posted at East Beach during the day on a quadbike to ensure that all of our visitors and residents can enjoy our beautiful East Beach without any security concerns. This project has been funded by local residents, businesses, the Marina and other donors. The funding goes towards the guards salary, the purchase and maintenance of the quad bike. A new bike has just been acquired and fuel is currently being sponsored.
The long term goal is to extend this project to other areas along our coastline and therefore should not be seen as only benefitting East Beach.
Residents and Ratepayers can support this by giving a once-off donation towards the project or by signing a debit order for regular monthly contributions. No amount is too small and we urge residents to support this initiative.
Should you wish to get involved, please see the debit order form at the bottom of this article which can be returned to mandyr@bvsa.ltd
Alternatively people can make contributions to the Sunshine Coast Tourism bank account:
FNB – Port Alfred – 210917
Account number – 6231 0501 350
Reference must be “Beach patrol” followed by person or business name for correct allocation to the project.
