Good morning Nombulelo

I trust you are well and are having a blessed Easter with your family.

The issue of stray cattle and goats on the road around Port Alfred/Nemato/Station Hill/Thorn Hill remains a real problem. The entrances to Nemato and Station Hill continue to have the same herds of cattle and goats and we are very concerned that this issue remains. We do acknowledge and commend the team on what appears to be a reduction of stray cattle within Port Alfred itself and also for the prompt attention they give to reports of stray dogs (as experienced recently).

We have lost lives to these beasts being on the road and therefore we ask that there is more attention given to this. The owners need to take responsibility for their animals or they need to be removed and impounded. For example, the entrance to Nemato, across from the Water Tower, has the same herd of goats grazing on the side and in the road every single day.

Please can you provide us with feedback on the long term plan to deal with these animals and their owners by Ndlambe LM?

Regards

Lindsay Luppnow Burrow
PARRA Chairperson
