Sewage, Water

CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESSED BY PARRA TO DR. VITHI (DIRECTOR OF INFRASTRUCTURE) ON 1 APRIL 2023:

Dear Director Vithi,

Re Ndlambe Phase 1 Sewerage Infrastructure upgrade and Croydon Circle and Panorama View:

Again PARRA requests a meeting with you to discuss various water issues. Our last meeting was postponed and no subsequent date has been proposed. The ratepayers and residents feel left in the dark about items like: pumps at PS No 1, when is the 1 ML RO Plant moving, when will the 2 ML RO Plant be operational and the disastrous contactors on the six first work packages for Phase 1 the Ndlambe Sewerage Infrastructure upgrade project?

Your teams have really let you down on the Panorama View project. Sewerage pipes remain unconnected, the storm water drain in Croydon is blocked and full of soil, vegetation and the grid at the entrance to the storm water pipeline has not been replaced. I met you on site a few months ago and not much has happened since then. The sewage pipeline from Croydon Circle to Boundary road is meant to have manhole and cover, and rodding eye and this has not been done either!

The whole area looks like an abandoned construction site!

Dawie van Wyk

PARRA Chair
