Livestock

Despite a previous court order (click here to read further) there are still herds of cattle which are grazing in various places around town.

This is of serious concern to PARRA as it causes a major risk to traffic and also creates a very bad impression of our town…

Ndlambe LM has acted promptly when these cattle are reported and they are collected.

We have addressed correspondence (16 February 2022 at 7:57am) through to the following Ndlambe LM staff members:

Mr. Rolly Dumezweni (Municipal Manager)
Ms. Nombulelo Booysen-Willy (Director of Community Protection Services)

Dear MM,

The court order appears to have had no effect whatsoever. Every morning the same herd of cattle are disrupting the traffic on the R 72 near the school and at the traffic light near the Small Boat Harbour. This is dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. The same herd are also driven to the grass area near the NuWater RO plant at the end of Wharf Street. The owner of these cattle must be taken to task and his cattle removed to the pound.

Regards

The matter was reported to Mr Fanie Fouché (Deputy Director of Community Protection Services) who promptly arranged for collection. We would like to ensure that these owners are being dealt with properly as this is a waste of Ndlambe LM’s time and financial resources.

Thank you to Ndlambe LM for addressing this issue promptly and working proactively to deal with this issue.
